Velvet — Fabric Care Guide
Velvet is a fabric with a short, soft pile on the surface, giving it a luxurious feel and beautiful light absorption. Velvet comes in natural (silk) and synthetic (polyester) varieties. It requires special care as the pile is easily crushed by pressure and heat.
Care Instructions
Dry clean is best. If hand washing, use very gentle program in cold water. Do not wring. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Do not iron directly.
Tips
- Dry cleaning is the best option
- If washing, turn inside out and use a laundry bag
- Never iron the pile side directly
- Hang to store — don't fold, as it creates marks
