Washing Machine Settings Guide: Match Programs to Care Symbols

Modern washing machines have multiple programs, each designed to match specific care label symbols.

Standard Programs

Cotton Program - Matches normal wash symbol (no underline) - Maximum agitation and fastest spin - Temperature: 30-95°C as specified

Synthetics/Permanent Press Program - Matches gentle wash symbol (one underline) - Medium agitation with slower spin - Temperature: 30-60°C

Delicates Program - Matches very gentle wash symbol (two underlines) - Minimum agitation and gentlest spin - Temperature: 30°C

Wool Program - For items with very gentle wash symbols - Very low agitation with gentle spin - Temperature: 30-40°C

Tips

• When in doubt, always use a gentler program
• Don't fill the drum more than half full
• Use the recommended amount of detergent
